The Process
Telephone Consultation: Call me to have a brief discussion about whether the Collaborative Law Process is right for you and your situation
Initial Consultation: At our first meeting we will discuss the details of your unique family situation. You will learn what your rights and responsibilities are under the law.
Agree to the Collaborative Process: If you decide to retain me to represent you in the Collaborative Process, you will be asked to sign a Retainer Agreement so that the arrangements between us are clear to both of us.
Four Way Meetings: At the first Collaborative face-to-face four way meeting a Participation Agreement will be signed by both spouses and their lawyers. Additional meetings are scheduled as required to exchange information, discuss priorities and clarify expectations. The meetings are focused on problem solving to create a mutual agreement you can rely upon in the future.
Documenting Agreement and Closure: Documentation that is required to meet the terms of the Agreement will be completed. The appropriate paperwork required by the Court will be filed. No Court appearances are needed.
